The Chianti DOCG "Poggio alla Farnia" is an organic wine from the heart of Tuscany, a region with a centuries-old winemaking tradition. This characterful wine is made from 80% Sangiovese, complemented by 10% Merlot and 10% Bonamico — a local grape variety rarely found outside the region, contributing to the unique personality of this Chianti.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully collected in small crates to preserve their quality. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 18 and 22 °C for fifteen days. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine rests on fine lees to encourage malolactic fermentation, enhancing complexity. It is then transferred to concrete tanks for further refinement, which supports its purity and structure.
In the glass, this Chianti shows a bright ruby-purple hue. The aroma is intensely fruity, with prominent notes of cherry, red currant, plum, and prune, accompanied by floral hints of violet and subtle spices. On the palate, it is fresh and juicy, with smooth tannins that offer a pleasant balance. The finish is marked by refined minerality and lingering impressions of red fruit and licorice.
"Poggio alla Farnia" is an approachable, elegant Chianti with excellent drinkability and a truly Tuscan character. It pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes or can be enjoyed on its own during a relaxed moment.
