The Amelia Cabernet Franc Toscana IGT is a remarkable wine originating from a tiny plot of less than one acre in Fauglia, nestled in the heart of Tuscany’s gently rolling Pisan hills. This wine is the result of dedication, precision, and a deep respect for nature. Made from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, it is hand-harvested and carefully selected according to organic principles. Every aspect of its production is artisanal and small-scale, which translates into a wine full of character and complexity.
After the manual harvest, the wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation in small stainless steel tanks. It is then aged in 225-liter French barriques, where it develops its refined structure and complexity. No oenological interventions are applied, and the wine is neither filtered nor clarified. This allows the pure character of the grape to shine through, offering an authentic and expressive tasting experience.
In the glass, Amelia reveals a deep ruby-red color. The nose is intense and layered, with aromas of plums, blackberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants, enriched by refined notes of chocolate and licorice. On the palate, the wine is ample and balanced, with silky tannins and a sweet, spicy finish that lingers beautifully. This 2017 vintage is best enjoyed at a serving temperature between 18 and 20 °C. Amelia is a wine that not only reflects the quality of its terroir but also the craftsmanship and passion behind its creation.
