Burghof Oswald is a family story that has been unfolding for nearly two centuries. What began in 1844 as a modest winery in Guntersblum has grown into a well-known estate on Alsheimer Straße, featuring a characteristic courtyard and an iconic tower that has been the heart of the winery since 1899.
Today, three generations work side by side. The youngest member is Julia Oswald: young, driven, internationally experienced, and bringing a fresh perspective on everything Rheinhessen has to offer. Yet some things never change: respect for terroir, for the fertile loess soils of Rheinhessen, and for the grape varieties that have long belonged here—Riesling, Grauburgunder, Spätburgunder, Silvaner, and more.
What makes Burghof Oswald special is its combination of accessibility and quality. The wines are fairly priced, pure, and elegant—exactly what you would expect from a top producer in Rheinhessen. During this masterclass, you will taste a broad selection of wines, ranging from dry to slightly sweet and from white to red, while Julia explains why Rheinhessen is one of Germany’s most versatile wine regions.
