Bodega Bravo Escós hails from Torroja del Priorat, southwest of Barcelona. Priorat is one of only two Spanish wine regions with the highest quality status, alongside Rioja. A rugged landscape where scorching sun, cool sea breezes and mountain mist meet on the famous llicorella: a soil of slate, ash and mica.
Founder Luis Bravo was captivated by the raw power of Priorat. Winemaker Pep Aguilar has worked in the region for more than twenty years and holds one conviction: not the oak, but the soil defines the identity of the wine. Native Garnacha and Cariñena take centre stage, complemented by Macabeu and international varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The result: elegant, expressive wines with the power and depth Priorat is known for.
During this masterclass you taste Priorat in all its layers, from 'Pas dels Caus' 2023 to 'Les Camades', 'La Roca de l'Abellar' and 'l'Escaleta' from 2021, all DOQ Priorat. The Dutch team behind the bodega comes to Amsterdam in person to explain why the llicorella leaves its mark on every bottle. Want a first introduction? Discover the wines of Bodega Bravo Escós.
