Product description
The ‘Grey’ Pinot Grigio DOP Friuli Isonzo is a dry, characterful white wine grown on well-ventilated gravel plains with reddish clay rich in iron oxide and aluminium. These cool and dry conditions preserve freshness and finesse in the wine. Made from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes harvested in early September, the fruit is gently destemmed and lightly crushed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 15–18 °C.
After fermentation, the wine rests on its fine lees for ten months in steel tanks, followed by further bottle ageing in temperature-controlled cellars. Visually, the wine is crystal clear, straw yellow in color with soft yet appealing coppery reflections. On the nose, it reveals floral notes of jasmine, fruity aromas of pear and melon, and elegant hints of lemon zest and pastry – all in fine harmony.
On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and savory, with a pleasant softness that rounds out the structure. The wine is clean and refreshing with good persistence. Ideal with well-sauced fish or hearty first courses like barley with sausage and cabbage. A youthful wine that is delightful now but has great potential. Best served at 12–14 °C.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
