The iconic Affenflaschen (Monkey Bottle) Spätburgunder Rotwein is a characterful red wine with an expressive and approachable style. In the glass, this quality wine presents itself with a deep ruby colour and an enticing ripe aroma of cherries and wild berries. Its flavour profile is powerful but harmonious, with a full, fruity structure and a soft, subtle sweetness that makes for a round, pleasant finish.
This Spätburgunder is a versatile companion at the table. It goes beautifully with dishes with pronounced flavours, such as pasta with rich sauces, savoury pizzas or game dishes with a fruity touch - think venison steak with cranberries or duck in sweet and sour sauce. This is also a great wine outside the meal, for example with a good book or during a cosy evening with friends.
With an alcohol content of 12.5% and a fine balance between residual sweetness (19 g/l) and acidity (4.5 g/l), this wine is both inviting and refined. The recommended serving temperature is between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius and the wine can safely be kept for several years, retaining its fruity charm.
