This elegant Chardonnay from Val de Loire is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, sourced from 10- to 15-year-old vines growing on calcareous sandy soils from the Turonian. Thanks to gentle pressing and slow, low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine fully retains its freshness and aromatic intensity. After a short ageing on fine yeast spores, the wine is bottled as early as January to maximise its fruity character.
In the glass, this Chardonnay presents itself with expressive aromas of peach, pear and floral accents, complemented by a lively touch of citrus. On the palate, it is supple and fresh, with a rounded attack and flavours of white fruit carried by a fine tension and subtle mineral freshness. The finish is elegant, slightly citrusy and refreshing.
This approachable and lively Loire Chardonnay is at its best when drunk young, but can also develop nicely in bottle for 2-3 years. Serve it between 8 and 10°C for an optimal experience. Ideal as an aperitif, but also an excellent companion to grilled fish, summer salads or fresh goat's cheese. A wine that invites enjoyment in good company.
