Product description
The name "Piedirosso" comes from a special feature of the grape: the red stalks of the berries, which look like the color of pigeon feet. This grape has very old roots. According to the scholar Carlucci, Piedirosso might be the same as the "Palombina nera" mentioned by Herrer Sederini in the 16th century, and even the "Colombina" from Pliny’s Naturalis Historia in the 1st century. This wine brings a piece of history into every glass, a legacy from ancient times.
The Piedirosso has a deep red color with cherry-like highlights that catch the eye right away. Its scent is rich and inviting, with clear notes of red fruit that stand out and add a subtle depth. It’s an aroma that shows both strength and elegance, a wine that makes you curious and fits perfectly with a moment of enjoyment.
On the tongue, this wine offers a long, lasting taste with good balance and hints of red fruit that stay with you. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, it’s firm yet easy to drink, making it a great match for dishes with red meat or aged cheeses. Serve it between 16 and 18 °C to let its character shine fully, and let its historical charm carry you away.
