Product description
Almonds and Sicily are inseparable. For centuries, almond trees have blossomed across the island, and their fruit colours local cuisine from breakfast to dessert. Arini Vini translates that tradition into the glass: the Crema di Mandorla is an aromatic dessert wine made from 100% Catarratto from the Marsala area, the coastal region in western Sicily long celebrated for its sweet, aromatic wines. This wine is not an imitation of something else. It is precisely what it promises to be: pronounced, sweet, and full of almond.
Catarratto is Sicily’s most widely grown grape, historically the foundation for white wines and fortified wines around Marsala. In this version, the grape carries a deeply sweet character with an almond suggestion that begins in the nose and continues to unfold on the palate. With 250 g/L residual sugar and an alcohol content of 16%, this is a full, rich wine that can stand as a dessert in its own right.
In the glass it shows a pale, almost paper-white hue. The nose is pronounced and direct: almond, with a subtly aromatic character. On the palate it is sweet, full-bodied, and long-lasting, with a clear almond flavour that lingers. Excellent alongside Sicilian dry pastries, equally delightful with fruit salads of pineapple, kiwi, and strawberry, or served with ice cream and butter biscuits. Serve chilled at 12 to 14 degrees.
