Product description
This Sauvignon Blanc comes from an ancient grape variety from France, whose exact origins remain a mystery to this day. What is certain is its unique aromatic expression: pronounced notes of passion fruit and gooseberry are beautifully complemented by fresh, green accents such as newly cut grass. Its distinctive aroma is due to its higher pyrazine content - as in Cabernet Sauvignon - and is perfectly supported by lively acidity.
The grapes come from a sheltered vineyard with a slight southern slope, where they were harvested by hand and by maturity between 8 and 15 September 2023. The must weight was between 80 and 86° Oechsle. Some of the grapes were carefully sourced. After a short skin soaking and gentle pressing, the juice was transferred by gravity to the old vaulted cellar. Fermentation took place under controlled temperature in stainless steel, after which the wine rested on fine lees until April.
The result is a particularly fresh, lively wine with a pronounced tropical-fruity nose. The flavours of passion fruit and gooseberries emerge immediately and are rounded off with a tight dry, crisp finish. Bottled in an elegant Schlegel bottle with screw cap, this Sauvignon Blanc is not only refreshing, but above all irresistibly enjoyable to drink. With an alcohol content of 11.5%, it is the perfect companion for sunny moments.
