Fra Lucerta is an organic Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Tenuta Pescarina made with great care and respect for tradition. The grapes grow on the hills around Spoltore, in a terroir of calcareous clay with pebbles. Manual harvest is followed by natural vinification: fermentation takes place in wooden vats with indigenous yeasts, leaving the skins in contact with the must for seven to eight days. Malolactic fermentation is spontaneous and the wine is not clarified, ensuring a pure and authentic expression of the terroir.
After seven months of aging in stainless steel and a further four months in bottle, Fra Lucerta emerges as a Montepulciano with depth and character. In the glass, it shows ruby red with intense aromas of ripe red fruit and subtle spicy accents. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant, with soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish. Its unfiltered style can give slight sediment in the bottle, a sign of its natural vinification.
This Montepulciano is an ideal companion to grilled red meat, rich pasta dishes with meat sauces and mature cheeses. Thanks to its elegance and structure, it also lends itself perfectly to moments of pure relaxation, where authenticity is key.
