Product description
The Grauer Burgunder Area 899 2023 comes from the Schweigener Sonnenberg vineyard and the famous Rädling layer, just across the French border. Here the grapes grow on limestone and limestone marl soils, a terroir known for its tension, precision and mineral expression. The grapes were selected entirely by hand and then gently pressed in the traditional basket press, producing a particularly pure must that forms the basis for this elegant wine.
After pressing, the young wine was transferred via drop pressure to large oak barrels and barriques, where it fermented spontaneously without any additives. The ageing in wood gives the wine structure, warmth and a subtle creamy mouthfeel, while the unaged bottling ensures that its natural aromas and texture are fully preserved. As a vegan German Prädikatswein, Area 899 shows an impressive balance between power and finesse.
In aroma and flavour, the Grauer Burgunder Area 899 presents itself full and precise, with notes of ripe pear, yellow apple, soft spiciness and a refined, chalky minerality. The acidity is fresh and nicely integrated, keeping the wine both round and lively. With 13.5% alcohol, 4.9 g/l residual sweetness and 6.2 g/l acidity, it has a firm structure and a long, harmonious finish. This wine pairs perfectly with creamy pastas, poultry, grilled vegetables, risotto with mushrooms or soft cheeses. Serve at 15-18 °C to fully show off its full character.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
