12 and 13 December: the ONWINE Winemakers’ Festival. Winemakers from all ONWINE countries are coming to the Netherlands to let you taste their best wines.
Estrós is a characterful Pinot Nero that stands out for its whimsical and original personality. The wine reflects the playful, creative spirit of Cantina Micheli’s cellar master, where meticulous care is taken both in the vineyards and in the cellar. The grapes come from high-altitude plots in Civezzano, where volcanic, mineral-rich soils and cool mountain air create a wine with finesse, tension, and purity.
In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby colour and opens with vibrant aromas of cherries, raspberries, and plums, gently complemented by hints of cinnamon. Subtle forest floor and undergrowth notes appear on the finish, adding depth and complexity. Estrós is fresh and energetic on the palate, with elegant, well-defined tannins that create a rounded and inviting structure.
Vinification takes place through temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, followed by malolactic conversion and 17 months of ageing in large French oak casks. The wine then rests for at least nine months in bottle before release. The result is a refined, expressive Pinot Nero that pairs beautifully with poultry dishes, mushroom risotto, or lightly spiced meats. Estrós is a wine that both surprises and delights, perfect for those seeking authenticity and elegance.
