The Rosso Piceno Superiore is a powerful and elegant red wine from Marche, composed of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese. This classic combination brings together two characterful grapes that complement each other perfectly. The power, ripeness and structure of Montepulciano are combined with the refinement, freshness and spicy nuances of Sangiovese. After a manual harvest, the wine matures for more than two years in Slovenian oak barrels, adding complexity and depth.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is rich and refined, with aromas of red fruit, chocolate, liquorice, black pepper and clove. On the palate, the wine presents itself full, soft and harmonious, with the ripe fruit nicely supported by spicy accents and subtle earthy notes. The ageing in wood adds structure and elegance, while the refined tannins provide a long, spicy finish.
This Rosso Piceno Superiore is excellent with grilled meat dishes, spicy pastas, grilled vegetables, mature hard cheeses and elaborate antipasti. Thanks to its balance between power and finesse, it is a wine that impresses both with a meal and during a quiet moment of enjoyment.
