Product description
The Polvaro Lison Classico D.O.C.G. is one of the most cherished wines from Tenuta Polvaro, an estate with a rich history dating back to 1681 in eastern Veneto. Made from 100% Tocai Friulano - the grape variety that finds its home in the historic Lison Classico zone - this wine embodies the typical freshness, elegance and delicate aromatics of the region. The vineyards lie on well-draining clay-limestone soils and benefit from a mild climate shaped by the shelter of the Dolomites and the cooling influence of the Adriatic Sea.
Vinification follows a traditional white wine-making process with gentle pressing and cold static settling, followed by fermentation at 18°C for eight to 10 days with selected yeasts. The wine then ages for four months in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with regular bâtonnage, which guards freshness and aromatic purity. In the glass, it shows a bright straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet is intense and inviting, with fruity and floral notes of white flowers and exotic fruit. On the palate, it is soft and smooth, with subtle hints of dried fruit and a distinctive, pleasant almond finish.
This versatile wine goes well with cured ham, risotto with herbs, seafood, white meat and fresh cheeses. Its fresh minerality and slight elegance make it equally suitable as an aperitif as with an informal or refined meal. As a D.O.C.G. - the highest Italian wine classification - the Lison Classico is an authentic expression of the Venetian terroir, produced according to the strict standards of the S.Q.N.P.I. sustainability certificate.
