The Montaia Rubicone IGP Chardonnay is an elegant and well-balanced white wine from the hills of Romagna, grown by Società Agricola MG on the rolling hills around Cesena. Following cold maceration, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts. The wine is then aged for three months on its fine lees in stainless steel, which contributes to its full-bodied and creamy texture.
In the glass, the Chardonnay displays a straw-yellow colour with pale green highlights. The nose is inviting and fruity, with notes of yellow stone fruit, banana and citrus. On the palate, the wine is balanced, full-bodied and flavourful, with a good, lingering finish that reflects the Mediterranean character of the Romagna region.
The Montaia Chardonnay is a versatile dining wine that pairs excellently with antipasti, white meat and fish risotto. Its fresh fruitiness and full body also make it ideal as an aperitif or with light summer dishes.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
