The WILD ‘Streetart Edition’ 2024 is the only red wine in Weingut Jonas Kiefer’s Streetart range, and it certainly lives up to its name. A powerful, full-bodied Merlot from the warm, sandy loess soils around Worms-Wiesoppenheim, where fermentation on the skins and malolactic fermentation give the wine its characteristic smoothness and approachability. As with the other Streetart wines, the label is striking and distinctive, just like the wine itself.
In the glass, it displays a deep, dark ruby red that immediately exudes power. The nose is inviting and powerful, with light notes of red forest fruits and a subtle, soft background. On the palate, the wine is both powerful and velvety, with a dense structure and a pleasantly warm finish. Not heavy or overpowering, but confident and delightfully direct.
The WILD pairs perfectly with dishes that call for a little more body. Think game, dark grilled meats, a stew or a rich cheese platter. But it’s also an excellent choice with a good burger or an Italian pasta dish with meat sauce. Serving it slightly chilled at 16°C makes it even more approachable for the summer months.
