The Raarberg Cuvée 2022 is a characterful sparkling wine from Meerssen in southern Limburg, made from chardonnay and pinot noir grown on the chalky slope of the Raarberg. This sustainable vineyard produces grapes with freshness and finesse, which are hand-picked and gently pressed as whole bunches for a pure, fruity base wine. Fermentation takes place mostly on stainless steel, with a small proportion in Burgundy oak for extra depth.
After an 18-month maturation on yeast, this wine was disgorged in August 2024 with a dosage of only 3 grams per litre, creating a dry, elegant style with refined bubbles. In the glass, an enticing aroma of citrus, red fruit, nuts and a subtle touch of toast unfolds. The palate is full and soft, with fresh acids providing tension and balance.
