Le Serpi is a powerful and characterful red wine from Tuscany, produced by Fattoria Pagnana. This IGT Rosso Toscano is an elegant blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from vineyards with rich soils and favorable microclimates that contribute to the wine's complexity.
Fermentation takes place in cement vats with a gradually decreasing number of remontages, in prolonged contact with the skins. Only indigenous yeasts are used. After fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in cement, followed by twelve months partly in tonneaux and partly in barriques, followed by at least another six months of bottle aging. The result is an intense ruby-red wine with fragrant notes of blackcurrant, amarena cherry, plum, herbs, and a subtle balsamic undertone. The palate is full, well-balanced, and long-lasting, with a robust structure and firm tannins.
Le Serpi pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meat and aged cheeses. Its depth and balance make this wine an ideal accompaniment to hearty meals and festive dinners.
