This Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG is produced only in the finest vintages and represents the highest expression of the estate. The grapes come from the classic Valpolicella area in Veneto, where clay, limestone and tuffaceous soils provide both freshness and elegance alongside power. The vineyards are trained using the traditional Pergola Veronese system and consist of vines over fifty years old, delivering low yields and high concentration. The blend is composed of 70% Corvina, 20% Corvinone and 10% Rondinella, carefully selected at optimal ripeness.
Only the best, sun-exposed bunches are chosen for vinification. After harvest, the grapes are dried for three months in 7-kg crates, losing around 40% of their original weight. Pressing takes place in January, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks lasting about 25 days at controlled temperature. The wine then ages for 48 months in large French oak barrels of 20 hectolitres, gaining complexity, balance and refinement without losing its fruit character.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, intense ruby red colour. The bouquet is rich and layered, with notes of plums, red berries and cherries in spirit, complemented by balsamic hints. On the palate it is full-bodied and powerful yet velvety and smooth, with elegant tannins and a long, complex finish. Served at around 18Ā°C, this Amarone pairs beautifully with red meat, game, grilled dishes and aged cheeses, and is also ideal as a contemplative wine.
