The Spätburgunder Area 610 2022 comes from the Schweigener Sonnenberg and Rädling vineyard just across the French border, where limestone and calcareous marl dominate the soil. This refined terroir, combined with low yields, produces grapes of exceptional concentration and elegance. All bunches were selected entirely by hand, so that only perfectly ripe fruit was processed.
The wine fermented for 21 days in open vats, after which the mass was gently pressed with the traditional Korbpresse and transferred to oak barrels via drop pressure. The spontaneous fermentation without any additives and the lack of clarification create a pure, authentic expression of Spätburgunder. This method produces a vegan German Qualitätswein with 13.5% alcohol, 0.5 g/l residual sweetness and 5.8 g/l acidity. The careful, minimalist approach in the cellar gives the wine its fine structure, tension and depth.
In the glass, the Spätburgunder Area 610 2022 shows itself elegant and precise, with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, rose hip and subtle spiciness, carried by a chalky minerality typical of this border region. On the palate, the wine is silky and fresh, with lively acidity, soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish. This refined Spätburgunder goes well with dishes such as duck, poultry, veal, mushroom risotto, grilled vegetables or soft Alpine cheeses. Serve at 15-18 °C to fully appreciate its elegant structure and mineral finesse.
