The Cairanne Blanc AOP is a white wine made from 40% Grenache, 30% Roussanne, 20% Clairette and 10% Bourboulenc and paired beautifully with hearty starters and pronounced salads.
The average age of these vines ranges from 20 to 40 years, with an average yield of 20 hl/ha for this vintage. Harvesting is done in open 200-kg crates to avoid damaging the grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed particularly slowly for 5-7 hours. Fermentation then takes place at low temperatures to preserve finest aromas of the expressive grape varieties. This gives the wine a striking complexity. Richaud's Cairanne Blanc AOP is aged for 7 months in concrete tanks before bottling.
This wine has a glossy yellow colour with golden hues. The nose and palate are dominated by notes of white fruits, white flowers, spices and fresh butter. Rich and aromatic, with an extended finish of bitter notes. This white Cairanne is round, intense, long and deep. It is a beautiful full-bodied white wine with a storage potential of roughly 5 years if under the right conditions.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
