Product description
This tasting case takes you on a journey through the diversity of this special region: from spicy, robust Schioppettino and classic Refosco to fresh, aromatic white wines such as Sauvignon, Malvasia, and Pinot Grigio. A perfect selection for those seeking both power and elegance in their glasses.
Schioppettino: Schioppettino is an indigenous red grape from Friuli, known for its spicy profile and firm structure. Dario Coosβs wine displays dark berries, black pepper, and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, it is dry, medium-bodied, with fresh acidity and fine tannins. Suitable for charcuterie, game, and spicy meat dishes.
Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso: A pure, traditional red wine made from 100% Refosco grapes. The harvest is divided in the cellar; one part remains pure and immediately in steel, while another dries naturally to gain concentration and depth. Only later do these layers come together for perfect balance. The taste is full and smooth, with fresh acidity and a light bitterness in the finish, which is typical of this grape.
Sauvignon: Sauvignon Blanc from cool-situated slopes in Friuli. Early harvest to preserve aromatic freshness. Aromas of citrus, gooseberries, and light spiciness. On the palate, fresh, crisp, and precise, without overripe notes. Suitable with vegetable dishes, goat cheese, and light fish dishes.
Malvasia: Malvasia from the hills around Ramandolo. Aromatic profile with floral notes, ripe stone fruit, and light spiciness. Vinified dry, with fresh acidity and a slightly rounded structure. Suitable for Mediterranean dishes, white meat, and aromatic cuisines.
Friuliano: A distinct, honest white wine. This is not a grape, but an identity. Once known as Tocai Friulano, this is the white wine that embodies Friuli: robust, honest, and unadorned. The taste is full and harmonious, with a mineral undertone and a typical slightly bitter almond note in the finish.
Pinot Grigio: Pinot Grigio from hilly vineyards with large temperature differences between day and night. Fresh style with citrus, apple, and light mineral notes. Dry, clean, and easy to drink. Suitable as an aperitif and with light dishes.
