This wood-aged Barbera Superiore excels indepth and elegance, with aromas of cherry and violets - perfect with rich pastas and hearty red meats.
The “Farfuien” Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG is a characterful red wine made from 100% Barbera grapes. This high-quality wine stands out for its expressive aromas, elegant structure, and depth of flavor. It is aged in oak barrels, known as barriques, which contribute additional complexity.
In the glass, the wine displays an intense ruby-red color. The nose reveals aromas of violets, Marasca cherries, and dried fruit. On the palate, it is smooth and well balanced, with a good tannin structure and moderate acidity. The longer ageing required for the Superiore classification adds complexity and depth to this distinctive Barbera.
This Barbera d’Asti Superiore pairs beautifully with robust dishes such as pasta with rich ragù sauces, red meat, game dishes, and baked casseroles. Serve it at around 14–16°C to allow its aromas and structure to shine.
Op vakantie in Piemonte gedronken. Heeeel lang gegoogled omdat ik de naam was vergeten. Toch gevonden en maakt de verwachtingen elke keer weer waar.

Goed en vol. Eerlijke wijn. choco en vanille tabak. 2022. Ik zou eigenlijk de andere flessen nog 2 jaar moeten laten liggen. Dan wordt deze iets wat zachter. Heerlijk vooruitzicht!

Wat een geweldige wijn is dit! Ik geef deze wijn altijd cadeau omdat deze wijn echt opvalt ten op zichte van andere wijnen!
Ben vorig jaar bij deze mensen op proeverij geweest en direct fan van de barbera superiore. Heerlijk zachte, droge smaak met lange afdronk. De lekkerste barbera d'asti wat mij betreft en ook nog eens voor een super prijs. De eigenaren zijn lief en echt dol op hun producten.
