Product description
The "Vigna Cec" Nizza from Cascina Garitina is a special red wine from the Nizza DOCG Neuvsent project, which started before the official Nizza DOCG was recognized. This wine comes from one of three vineyards, each with its own soil, creating three Nizza wines: the same in spirit but unique in structure. The Vigna Cec is named after Francesco (shortened to Cec in dialect), who planted the vineyard in 1947, blending a rich history with a modern taste.
The vineyard has a fatty silt-clay soil that gives this Nizza complex aromas, which grow even more with bottle aging. It’s a wine that holds memories of an old world while also speaking to the present and looking to the future. Winemaker Gianluca’s touch is strong, rooted in tradition but moving forward.
Serve the "Vigna Cec" at 18°C to 20°C to enjoy its full and complex flavors, which go perfectly with hearty dishes like red meat or aged cheeses. This wine is a unique expression of the different soils and long history of Cascina Garitina, and it keeps improving as it ages.
Verrassend lekker. Ik kreeg flessen uit 2016 geleverd. Stevige wijn (16%!), die even moet ademen, maar dan ook alles geeft. Voor mij een nieuw wijngebied, Nizza, maar wel een blijvertje! Aanrader!
