Product description
The "Tempranillo 2015" is an exceptional red wine, entirely made from 100% Tempranillo grapes from centuries-old vines on a 0.9-hectare vineyard in San Miniato, Tuscany. Grown on sandstone soils with Pliocene marine fossils, white clay, and high mineral complexity, at 100-150 meters altitude, this vineyard with 4000 vines per hectare and 2 kg grapes per vine yields a rich harvest in the first ten days of September. After four weeks of drying, retaining 70% of the yield, it becomes an intense wine with 15.5% alcohol, bottled in 3000 75 cl bottles.
Winemaking happens in temperature-controlled, glass-lined cement vats with six weeks of skin maceration, followed by 24 months in new French barriques and another 24 months in the bottle. This gives the wine a deep purple color with violet highlights, bright yet dense from the drying process. The nose blends flowers and fruit perfectly, evolving after five years with tertiary notes of licorice, coffee, cocoa, leather, and cream, reflecting its aging complexity.
In the mouth, this Tempranillo is creamy and supple, with silky, elegant tannins that turn sweet after six or seven years, making it highly drinkable. Store the bottle on its side at 20 °C or less, away from light, and uncork an hour before serving at 16-18 °C. It pairs with sweet-and-sour braised dishes, game, or chocolate preparations. This wine offers a rich experience for fans of bold, natural red wines with a Tuscan soul.
