Product description
Riesling Origin'Alsace 2017 from Domaine Gueth is a superb example of a mature Alsatian Riesling with class, brilliantly reflecting the power and elegance of a sunny vintage. The grapes come from the Butzenloch vineyard, a plot located at the foot of the hills with a southeast exposure at 210 metres altitude. The soil, rich in clay and formed by rubble and pink sandstone from the Vosges Mountains, offers an excellent water reserve that gives the wine plenty of fruit and finesse.
After five years of ageing, this wine presents itself with a ripe, mineral complexity in which the lively acids of its youth have subtly melted into an elegant and intense expression. In the nose, it reveals aromas of candied citrus and flint - characteristic of rieslings from exceptional terroirs. The structure is silky smooth, the finish fruity and mineral, and the wine remains expressive and open in the glass.
Awarded a silver medal in 2022, this cuvée shows itself as a versatile companion at the table. It is ideal as a refined aperitif and pairs beautifully with fish and seafood such as dorade with Provençal herbs, smoked fish maki, sole meunière or salmon with dill. It is also excellent with ash-coated goat cheese. Drink this wine now or feel free to keep it until 2030 for even more depth and complexity. Serve chilled at 8 to 10°C.
