Pinot Noir Origin'Alsace from Domaine Gueth is an elegant and fruity red wine that refinedly expresses the character of Alsace. The grapes come from the Rouffacherweg plot, located on a southeastern slope at 250 metres altitude. The subsoil consists of large chunks of pink Vosges sandstone, covered by deep, clay-rich soils that provide excellent water reserve. This terroir gives the wine an exuberant fruitiness and elegant structure.
In the glass, this Pinot Noir presents itself with a deep colour and purple brilliance. The aroma is expressive and dominated by blackcurrants and black cherries, with subtle notes of gentian and amarene. On the palate, the wine is refined and supple, with silky tannins and a fresh finish. Although this wine is nicely ready to drink now, it also has excellent storage potential of 3 to 7 years.
Pinot Noir Origin'Alsace goes perfectly with red meat, beef in sauce, veal, game pâté or a potato gratin. Fish dishes with a firm texture and cheeses like Brie, Mont-d'Or or Coulommiers also come into their own beautifully. Serve lightly chilled at 14 to 16 °C to show off the full aromatic palette of this refined Alsatian red wine.
