Riesling Origin'Alsace 2023 from Domaine Gueth is an expressive and elegant wine that perfectly embodies the typical character of Alsatian Riesling. The grapes come from the Butzenloch plot, located at the foot of the hills on a south-east exposition at an altitude of 210 metres. Here, the soil consists of rubble and pink Vosges sandstone, with a deep clay layer rich in water reserves. This terroir provides juiciness, refinement and a distinctly fruity style.
On the nose, this Riesling opens with lively aromas of orange peel, pear compote and white blossoms. The bouquet is frank, elegant and clearly recognisable as Riesling. On the palate, you taste ripe citrus fruits, with a subtle, salty minerality and a refreshing stony tone. The wine is dry, refined and highly digestible - a perfect companion at the table and loved for its clean style and balance.
This vintage is an excellent choice with seafood such as oysters, langoustines or stuffed crab, but also goes surprisingly well with vegetarian dishes such as aubergine-tomato caviar or a vegetable wok with seeds. Classics like salmon carpaccio, grilled dorade or Riesling rooster also come into their own, as do goat cheeses. Serve chilled at 8-10 °C and enjoy this wine now, or feel free to keep it until 2032 for an extra refined experience.
