The Merlot Rosato 2023 Lazio from Ômina Romana is a refined and expressive rosé that uniquely showcases the elegance of the Merlot grape. The wine comes from specially selected vineyards with sandy and loamy soils on the estate, where the grapes are harvested with extreme care in the second week of September to maintain their delicate balance between freshness and ripeness.
After the ‘extra-velvet’ pressing, the wine undergoes careful fermentation and maturation in stainless steel tanks, where it rests for six months. It is then bottle-aged for a further two months to allow its aromas to fully blend. In the glass, it sparkles with a bright, light pink hue. The aroma is seductive and elegant, with notes of pink grapefruit, exotic fruit, and subtle floral nuances. On the palate, it surprises with a perfect harmony between freshness and creaminess, making it both lively and refined.
The Merlot Rosato 2023 is an ideal wine to serve well-chilled at 10-12 °C. It makes a wonderful pairing with light starters, summer salads, seafood or fine meats, but is also a wonderfully refreshing choice on its own for hot days or elegant aperitif moments.
