Maison D&D's Fumin - Vallée d'Aoste DOC is a characterful red wine that embodies the power and elegance of the indigenous Fumin grape. This rare variety, grown exclusively in the Valle d'Aosta, finds its ideal expression on the region's steep, sunny slopes. The vines are maintained according to the Guyot system and the grapes are not harvested until late October, when they have reached their full aromatic potential.
After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and undergo maceration on the skins with daily remontages at controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for several months in French oak tonneaux, adding depth, complexity and refined spiciness. In the glass, it shows a deep crimson colour with purple sparkles. The aroma is intense and spicy, with notes of black pepper, ripe fruit and a hint of wood. On the palate, it is full and warm, with velvety tannins and an elegant softness that gives the wine a harmonious, long finish.
