Greta Alta Langa DOCG 2021 is a refined sparkling wine that shows how great Pinot Noir can be in the cool, hilly Alta Langa region. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir and according to the classic méthode traditionnelle, which places it among the top Italian sparkling wines. After the second fermentation, the wine is aged on the lees for about 36 months, which gives it depth, finesse and a beautiful balance between freshness and structure.
In the glass, Greta displays a bright rose gold colour with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is elegant and precise, with aromas of cassis and small red fruits, subtly supported by a hint of bread crust that refers to the long ageing on the lees. This combination of fruit and autolytic notes gives the wine both charm and complexity.
On the palate, Greta is taut and vertical, with a beautiful structure and a long finish. The wine feels energetic and refined at the same time, with a fresh tension that makes it very suitable for gastronomic combinations. Served at 6 to 7 degrees, this Alta Langa comes into its own, both as an aperitif and at the table with refined dishes.
