"Maria Augusta" is a tribute to the mother of the founder of Vinicola Arno. A dreamer and traveller, full of zest for life and determination, who met all her challenges with a smile. This Barbera d'Asti Superiore reflects her character and the deep union between strong women.
Made from 100% Barbera grapes, this wine undergoes a maturation of at least 18 months, including at least six months in Austrian oak barrels. With an alcohol content of 15% and a limited production of only 2770 bottles a year, this is a wine of exceptional depth and complexity.
In the glass, "Maria Augusta" shows an intense and vibrant ruby red colour. The aroma profile opens with ripe cherries, blackberry jam and violets, followed by spicy notes of clove and nutmeg. The finish reveals subtle hints of cocoa powder and liquorice. On the palate, the wine is full and enveloping, with a pleasant freshness that balances it out. Perfect to pair with rich meat dishes, aged cheeses or as an accompaniment to a special moment.
