Domaine Brun Avril's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2021 is a classic and elegant expression of this iconic appellation. Sourced from vineyards of red clay, sand and limestone, covered with the distinctive galets roulés, this wine benefits from optimal ripening and concentration. The warm climate and careful selection during harvest ensure grapes of exceptional quality.
The blend consists of 75% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah, with each grape vinified separately to achieve maximum complexity. Vinification includes a long four-week maceration, followed by 18-month maturation in a combination of oak barrels and large foudres. This approach creates a perfect balance between power, structure and finesse, with the wood supporting the wine without dominating it.
In the glass, this wine offers an intense aromatic profile with notes of cherries, black olives, cocoa and garrigue spices. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with a nice interplay between ripe tannins and fresh acidity.
