Caballo Español Silver Edition 2021 from Bodega Sierra Almagrera is a powerful and elegant red wine from the rugged, semi-arid landscape of Almería. The vineyards are at 350 metres altitude, where hot days and cool nights ensure optimal ripening and aromatic complexity. This extreme terroir gives the wine its unique tension between power and freshness.
The grapes Syrah, Tempranillo and Monastrell are harvested by hand and carefully processed in small, temperature-controlled tanks. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in oak, 80% of which is French and 20% American, which creates a refined balance between structure and spiciness.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep cherry red colour with violet reflections. The nose is intense and layered, with aromas of forest fruits such as blackberry, complemented by notes of toasted wood, smoke, spices and floral accents of orange blossom and lavender. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with notable freshness and a long, elegant finish.
