Sierra Almagrera from Bodega Sierra Almagrera is a characterful red wine that reflects the rugged terroir of Almería. The vineyards are located at the foot of Sierra Almagrera, where reddish clay and loam soils, rich in minerals, together with a dry Mediterranean climate make for powerful and expressive grapes.
The blend of Syrah, Tempranillo, Monastrell and Garnacha is hand-selected and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages for 12 months in French oak barrels and another year in the estate's cellars. This combination of ageing gives the wine balance, structure and aromatic depth.
In the glass, the wine shows a bright ruby red colour with slight reflections. The nose opens with aromas of wild strawberry and mountain herbs such as lavender and thyme, complemented by subtle notes of cinnamon and toasted wood. On the palate, it is full and round, with a soft texture, fresh influences and a long, fruity and spicy finish.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
