Antas Syrah from Bodega Sierra Almagrera is a powerful and expressive young red wine from Antas, located at 400 metres altitude in Almería. The dry Mediterranean climate with warm days and cool nights ensures optimal ripening and preservation of freshness.
The 100% Syrah grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 23-25°C, with gentle remontages to obtain maximum extraction of colour and aroma. After a short four-month ageing on the lie, the wine develops additional roundness and complexity.
In the glass, it shows a deep cherry red colour with slight bluish reflections. The nose is intense and rich, with aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberry, cassis and plum, complemented by spicy, balsamic notes and hints of chocolate and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a long, spicy finish.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
