The Cabras Pintás 2023 takes its name from the rock formation of the same name in the spectacular Batuecas Valley, where the region’s first Neolithic cave paintings were discovered. It is a fresh and authentic wine with a distinctly rustic character, rooted in the traditions of the family winemakers of the Sierra de Francia.
Made from grapes grown on vines over 60 years old on slate soils from Garcibuey and granite soils from San Esteban and Santibañez, the grapes are sorted on the sorting table, fully destemmed and gently crushed. Following a cold pre-fermentation maceration, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place on the wine’s own yeasts for 12–13 days at a maximum of 22°C. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged for six months in French and American oak.
Bright cherry red with garnet hues. A clean aroma with a pronounced mineral character: sloe, candied plum, a hint of liqueur and undergrowth. Balsamic, with a light hint of oak. On the palate, it is flavourful and expressive, with ripe and fruity tannins, balanced acidity and a long finish.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
