Product description
Tenimenti Collespino’s Argyrion 2013 is a characterful red wine from Narni, in southern Umbria. The wine is made from 71% Sangiovese and 29% Sagrantino, two grape varieties that lend it a robust structure and a distinctive character. The grapes come from a small 1.2-hectare vineyard, situated on a hill at an altitude of 220 metres. Its south-southeast-facing aspect ensures plenty of sunshine, good ventilation and marked temperature differences between day and night.
The vineyard was planted in 2006 and has approximately 5,500 vines per hectare. The clay-rich soil of fossil origin and the relatively low yield of around 60 quintals of grapes per hectare contribute to the quality of the grapes. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand during the last ten days of September. Following vinification, the wine matures for one month in tonneaux, giving it a subtle oak influence without overpowering the character of the grapes.
The blend of Sangiovese and Sagrantino makes the Argyrion 2013 a structured and characterful red wine. The wine is powerful and spicy, with a fruity core and a lovely balance between acidity and tannins. Thanks to its Italian character, it is particularly well-suited to accompanying a meal and really comes into its own with savoury dishes. Serve the wine at 16–18°C, for example with lamb stew, braised dishes, poultry or a hearty pasta dish.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
