The Riesling Steillage Kabinett from Weingut Maring-Prigge is a refined and lively Mosel Riesling grown on steep slate slopes. This classic Kabinett style combines fresh acidity with an elegant natural sweetness and perfectly illustrates why Mosel Rieslings are so beloved worldwide. Thanks to the intensive manual labour on the steep slopes and meticulous winemaking, the result is a wine full of excitement, finesse and pure drinking pleasure.
On the nose, the wine opens with refined aromas of ripe peach, elderflower and fresh citrus fruit. On the palate, it is silky-smooth and lively, with a wonderful balance between juicy fruitiness, crisp acidity and elegant residual sweetness. The low alcohol content lends it a light and playful style, whilst the pronounced minerality of the slate soils adds extra depth and refinement. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel and ageing on the fine lees provide extra texture and a harmonious finish.
This Kabinett Riesling is perfect as a finale to a dinner and pairs excellently with light desserts, fruit sorbets, sponge cakes and fresh fruit dishes.
