The Dhroner Hofberg Riesling 2023 from Weingut Maring-Prigge is a refined and terroir-driven Riesling hailing from the steep slopes of the famous Dhroner Hofberg on the Moselle. The wine perfectly reflects the rugged slate terroir of this vineyard and combines precision, minerality and elegance with impressive depth. Thanks to the hand-harvesting on the steep slopes and meticulous vinification, this Riesling boasts a pure character and excellent ageing potential.
On the nose, the wine opens with refined aromas of ripe apricot, white blossom and fresh citrus notes. On the palate, it is crisp and lively, with pronounced mineral freshness, refined acidity and an elegant structure. Spontaneous fermentation in 500-litre tonneaux and ageing on the lees for at least eighteen months lend the wine extra complexity, texture and depth without compromising the Riesling’s pure character. The long finish combines tension, finesse and typical Mosel minerality.
This dry Riesling pairs excellently with poultry, fresh salads and refined dishes featuring mushrooms or soft cheeses.
