Loulou Merlou Rosé, a French rosé wine that is pure nature. Made from 60% Merlot, 20% Grenache de saigné and 20% Grenache and Blanc de Noir, the grapes come from old vines slowly transitioning to organic cultivation on sandy-clay soils.
With a modest yield of 45Hl/hectare in the 2022 vintage, Loulou Merlou is the result of the hard work of two young, enthusiastic winemakers who let the terroir speak for itself. Natural fermentation takes place in the cellar without any additional additives. Most of the process takes place in stainless steel vats, and a small part in oak barrels.
When bottling, they let nature take its course. The wine is not filtered and undergoes no clarification, with only a minimal dose of SO2 added. With an alcohol content of 13.5% vol, Loulou Merlou Rosé has a vibrant colour due to the main grape, Merlot, while still remaining light.
The aroma has a mix of spicy and roasted notes, accompanied by hints of small red fruits. This rosé is characterised by its roundness and light tannins, giving it a slightly more vinous character. Its typical characteristics make this rosé a favourite with summer meals. Here you can think of light salads and tasty grilled fish and seafood.
