Cantine Miali's Martina wine pays homage to the classic style of the Valle d'Itria, a region where tradition and craftsmanship come together. This white wine, from old vineyards in the heart of this unique area, is made from a carefully blended blend of Verdeca (55%) and Bianco d'Alessano (45%). The grapes are harvested by hand in the third week of September, gently pressed and then undergo a 16- to 18-hour cryomaceration. This is followed by an aging on the fine groin for about six to seven months, finishing with a refinement in stone barrels.
In the glass, Martina shines with a bright straw yellow colour and green reflections. The bouquet opens with delicate notes of yellow peaches and honey, which transition into a fine and refreshing flavour profile. The structure is clean and elegant, with a long, lingering finish that gives this wine its character and finesse. Thanks to its fresh acidity and harmonious balance, this wine is both subtle and expressive.
Martina is a versatile companion at the table and goes particularly well with fish dishes, light soups and seafood. This wine is also an excellent choice as an aperitif, partly due to its alcohol content of 11.5-12% and its lively freshness. Serve it preferably at 10 °C to make the most of its full-bodied aromas.
