The Polvaro Merlot D.O.C. Venezia is one of Tenuta Polvaro's most cherished wines, from a single vineyard with vines over 30 years old. This age gives the grapes a special concentration and depth, characteristic of a vineyard that has been carefully tended for generations. The vineyard is located in the historic Lison Classico zone on clay-limestone soils, sheltered by the Dolomites and refreshed by the breeze from the Adriatic Sea.
After a skin maceration of 16 to 20 days, the wine matures for 12 months in French and American oak barriques, followed by 24 months in stainless steel. In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red. The bouquet is inviting with notes of ripe red fruit, soft spices and light toasted nuances. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, with velvety tannins and a harmonious finish.
An excellent choice with pasta, roasts, red meats and semi-ripened cheeses such as Asiago or young Pecorino.
