Hof Breitenstein's 2023 Spätburgunder Blanc de Noirs Feinherb from the Nahe is a special wine that shows how versatile Pinot Noir can be. Although the grape normally produces red wines, here it is pressed so gently that hardly any colour is released from the skins. The result is an elegant white wine - a Blanc de Noirs - with a refined and fruity character.
On the nose, the wine opens with fresh aromas of red apple, pear and light red berries, complemented by subtle floral notes. The feinherb style gives the wine a soft roundness and a slight residual sweetness that lets the fruit speak for itself. At the same time, fresh acids provide tension and balance, keeping the wine lively and drinkable.
