Barbera d’Alba Superiore “Alice” is a refined red wine from the rolling hills of Cuneo, distinguished by its deep ruby red color with purple reflections. The “Superiore” mention indicates a special vinification and aging process that sets it apart from the traditional style. Its bouquet is broad and complex, offering notes of blackberry, cherry, strawberry, red fruit jam, and a touch of vanilla, thanks to maturation in small wooden barrels.
On the palate, it’s full-bodied and well-rounded. The characteristic acidity of the Barbera grape is softened by the structure of the wine and the influence of wood aging, resulting in a smoother, more balanced finish. Over time, the wine becomes gentler, with a dry, pleasantly bitter edge.
Made from 100% Barbera grapes with a yield of 90q/ha and 13% vol alcohol, this wine pairs beautifully with robust main courses, game, or aged cheeses. Aged for at least one year, it's a wine that showcases depth, elegance, and the best of Piedmont’s winemaking tradition.
