The Alte Reben Feinherb 2025 from Weingut Beth is a characterful Riesling from old vines, whose deep roots provide concentration, complexity and a distinct terroir expression. This wine shows that Feinherb can be more than just slightly sweet: it is a style that brings together ripe fruit, tension and elegance. With an alcohol content of 11 per cent, the wine retains its nimble character, while the old vines give it extra depth and structure.
On the nose, the wine opens with ripe aromas of yellow stone fruit, candied citrus peel and a subtle herbal touch reminiscent of wet slate and honey blossom. In contrast to young, fresh Rieslings, this Alte Reben shows more warmth and layering, with a rounded aromatic profile in which ripeness and finesse take centre stage. The aroma is calm and refined, without being exuberant.
On the tongue, the wine presents itself supple and harmonious, with fine fruit sweetness beautifully supported by lively but well-integrated acidity.
