The Bricco is Tenuta La Tenaglia’s straightforward, lively Barbera. A wine without any pretensions: fresh, fruity and immediately approachable, yet with enough character to accompany an entire meal. The Barbera grapes grow on the clay-rich marl soils of the hills around Crea, at an altitude of 400–450 metres, with a southerly aspect that favours ripening.
Fermentation takes place at 27°C in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and three to four months’ ageing in the bottle. In the glass, it is an intense red with pleasant hints of raspberry and black cherry. On the palate, it is harmonious, smooth and elegantly spicy.
A wine to enjoy throughout the meal, pairing well with starters, white and red meats. Serve at 16–18°C.
