Gemma is a unique white wine that exudes elegance and sophistication. With its bright straw yellow colour, shot through with golden hues, Gemma is a visual and tasteful tribute to the indigenous Verdeca grape. This surprising grape variety, grown on calcareous clay soils in Apulia, shows its full finesse and impressive ageing potential here.
Refined aromas of kumquat, neroli and ripe peach are complemented by subtle hints of balsam, cedar, acacia and a touch of minerality. The palate is compact, harmonious and beautifully balanced, with lively acidity and a savoury, mineral finish.
Aged for 12 months in stainless steel tanks and French oak tonneaus, and bottle-aged for a minimum of six months, Gemma has an alcohol content of 13% and an aging potential of as much as eight years. Serve this refined wine at a temperature of 10-12°C, perfect with semi-ripened cheeses, risotto with fish, white meat or roasted fish dishes. Gemma is a wine that brings together elegance and authenticity.
