The estate is located within the prestigious Pouilly-Fumé appellation, an area known for its unique terroirs and elegant, expressive Sauvignon Blanc. Its history begins with Amédée Renaud, who planted the first vineyards on the slopes of Saint-Andelain, a terroir famous for its flint-rich soils and wines of great character. His vision was further developed by Jean Renaud, who, in addition to being a winemaker, was also active as a wine broker, strengthening the estate's reputation within Pouilly-sur-Loire and Sancerre.
